STATEMENT

Memories are the building blocks of our understanding of the world around us. Precise  moments and interactions change how we perceive the world, how we behave.

My memories have always been linked strongly to colour and pattern. As a young child I carefully stored my baby memories in the deep yellow and dark brown striped fabric that was the curtain in my parents’ VW campervan. I can’t remember being a baby now but I can clearly picture that fabric. My painting is the interaction between the colours I feel emotionally connected to and the memories that I hold onto.

Alice earned a degree Chelsea College of Art in 2003 and a master’s from Arts University Plymouth in 2022.

Alice has run workshops with both children and adults and is currently working as an art teacher.
